In the last chapter of his final letter to Timothy, Paul is attentive to everything that is happening around him. The urgent tone of the letter reveals Paul's desire to meet Timothy before his death.
To a superficial and worldly eye it might seem that Paul was unhappy. Only a spirit-led believer can discern Paul's joy at fulfilling God's mission. He was thrilled to meet Jesus and receive his crown from the King of Kings!
Often our walk with God can seem like a wasted life to those living in the world. It leaves them confused when we put God first. They think there are no emotions in our lives. But we, as followers of the living God, know that by consecrating our lives to the Lord we have chosen the best!
The importance of walking with God every day eclipses and nullifies every other pleasure this world can offer. He puts in us a deep sense of joy, peace and the desire to know him more and more. It's a feeling that mere words cannot convey. Only a genuine experience with God will make you understand this!
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God in heaven, thank you for what you give me and for the honor you grant me to be able to serve you. I desire to live a life consecrated to You. Help me to do your will in everything. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
