In this frenetic world full of uncertainties, Psalm 91 offers us a reassuring image of peace and protection. Like a bird that finds shelter in its mother's nest, the believer finds refuge in the shadow of the Almighty.
The Lord is our "refuge and fortress", our "stronghold" in times of trouble. He promises to save us from the dangers of life.
Like a loving father, God covers us with his “fatherly wings” and provides us with a safe place to stand. His "loyalty" is our "shield and armor", which defends us from the enemy's attacks.
This does not mean that we will be exempt from the suffering or challenges of life. It means that we can face any difficulty with the confidence that God is with us and will guide us through the trials.
Today we want to pray together and say: God the Father, we thank you for your infinite love and for your sure protection. As a bird finds refuge in its nest, we find rest in the shade of your wings. We ask you to protect us from the dangers of life and cover us with your wings of love. Help us to trust in you at all times, knowing that you are our strength and our salvation. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
