MAJOR WORKS

Peace of the Lord to all.
For today's family worship, Sunday 7 January 2024, I feel in my heart to share with you a thought which has as its key verse:
John 14:12 (NIV)

"Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."

When do you consider a productive day? Maybe for you it means checking off every item on your to-do list or completing all your projects on time. Have you ever wondered what a productive day in the life of Jesus was? Maybe he began the day with a quiet time of prayer, then had moments of preaching, teaching, healing, and deliverance for people who sought Him.
Jesus told His disciples that they would do greater works than Him, because He would go to the Father after His resurrection. This promise also applies to us who are the disciples of Jesus in the 21st century. But are we really committed to carrying out the great works mentioned by Jesus? Or are we so caught up in an intense pursuit of completing our daily chores that we neglect the Lord's mandate?
If you want to get closer to the Lord in 2024, put God's plan at the center of your program, so that He can work. You will never know what God can do with the time you put into serving him. Start your day with a time of prayer and reading the Word. So, keep your eyes open for people to whom you can convey the love of Christ. When you give God space in your day, He will open up opportunities for you to help, encourage, and guide those around you. Let this year be filled with the great works that God can accomplish through your life in service to him.

This morning we want to turn to God together and tell him: Lord God thank you for the mighty works you do in my life. Thanks for how you use me. Help me to be your faithful servant for your glory. In the Name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
