Mordecai was the cousin of Queen Esther, married to King Ahasuerus, who ruled over 127 provinces, from India to Ethiopia!
Mordecai, a devout follower of the Lord, refused to bow to anyone other than God.
At that time Haman was the king's right hand man. Even when the royal officials bowed before Haman, Mordecai refused to do so. This angered Haman, who influenced the king to wipe out the Jews from his kingdom. He wanted to take revenge on Mordecai for not bowing before him.
Haman believed that nothing could go wrong because he was the king's right hand man. But he didn't know that Mordecai had always put the Lord first and could not be touched because the Almighty was on his side.
One day Haman raised a force to hang Mordecai, and in his plans he would be the first among the Jews to face execution.
But the Lord intervened and changed the king's heart through Esther.
The next day, instead of being hanged, Mordecai was exalted by the king and Haman was executed in his place.
When we are faithful to God, He will turn even the most desperate situation in our favor.
As the Psalmist says in Psalm 91:7 “A thousand will fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but you will not be affected.”
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of love, I thank you for your word. Always be by my side and help me overcome any difficulty. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
