“Tell me what you're thinking.” It's a phrase we often use to find out another person's opinion. It could be a plan you're making with a friend, a project you're presenting to a client, or a presentation you're making for school. When you ask someone what they think, it means you value their opinion. You genuinely care about his thoughts and want his input so you can improve your work.
When was the last time you asked God what he thinks? Obviously, the Creator of the universe, the One who fashioned you in His image, certainly has thoughts about your life. Do you value God's thoughts enough to ask Him? The Psalmist certainly did. He knew that God's thoughts were vast and varied, but also precious to him.
No one can truly know the mind of God, but we have a degree of understanding because of Christ in us. 1 Corinthians 2:16 says, “Who has understood the mind of the Lord, that he can instruct him?” Now we have the mind of Christ.”. Next time you pray, ask God what he thinks. Seek God's opinion on whatever you are planning for your life.
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God in heaven, I thank you for the way you speak to me. Help me understand what your thoughts are for my life. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
