David felt the guilt of his sin upon himself. He probably could feel a sense of uneasiness about going into the presence of God with the sin he had committed. Repentantly he sought God's forgiveness. It was difficult for him to open his mouth and praise God with the weight of his sin.
If you are finding yourself in a situation like David's, and finding it difficult to come into the presence of God because of the weight of your sin, do as David did today: ask the Lord for forgiveness. David longed for his lips to be opened so he could praise God. He knew the only way he could reopen his mouth and praise God would be for God to forgive him so he could boldly sing His praises. It is important for you today to go to God and confess your sins and ask Him for forgiveness, so that you can be sure of being accepted in His presence. Once you experience God's forgiveness, your mouth can continue to proclaim His praises.
Go this morning into His presence and confess everything to the Lord. Repent of your mistakes and ask Him for forgiveness. As David exclaims: Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.
This morning we want to turn to God together and say: Lord God, thank you for everything you do for me. I come humbly to you to ask for forgiveness. Renew Your grace in me. In the Name of Jesus... Amen!
