In the book of Proverbs, we find gems of wisdom that guide our lives toward faith and righteousness. Among these, verse 18:10 shines like an impregnable fortress: "The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."
We imagine the Lord as an imposing, majestic and unassailable tower. Its thick walls offer protection and security to anyone who takes refuge there. This image evokes the power and immutability of God: He is our safe refuge in an often uncertain and turbulent world.
The verse emphasizes that only "the righteous" can run to this tower and find salvation. But who is the right one? Righteous are those who have been justified by the blood of Jesus.
On this journey, we will inevitably encounter challenges, obstacles and trials. Times when fear and doubt can attack us. It is precisely in these circumstances that the Lord's fortress becomes our refuge.
Running towards him means turning to him with prayer, with trust and with an open heart. It means seeking His guidance and comfort in times of difficulty, trusting that His strength and love will sustain us.
The name of the Lord is our impregnable fortress. In a world that often makes us feel small and vulnerable, we can find safety and protection by running towards him with faith and a sincere heart. Its tower welcomes us and offers us refuge, giving us the strength to face every trial and the hope of a bright future.
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of heaven, we thank you for your infinite love and your unwavering protection. We recognize that your name is our impregnable fortress, a safe haven in every moment of our lives. In times of difficulty and trial, we ask you to give us the strength to run towards you, to seek your comfort and guidance. Help us to remain true to your word and live by your teachings. May the light of your presence illuminate our path and lead us towards eternal salvation. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
