4 June 2024

I greet you all with the peace of the Lord. For today, Tuesday 4 June 2024, the biblical verse from which the thought I want to share is inspired is found written in:
Psalm 71:5 (NIV)

“For you have been my hope, Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth.”

What does hope mean to you? The dictionary defines hope as “Feeling of confident expectation in the present or future realization of what is desired”. We all have hopes and desires for ourselves and our loved ones. We would like certain things to happen in our future. For many it is disappointing when their hopes are delayed, but when they come true, they experience great joy.
There is nothing wrong with having hope for a better future. But we must be cautious about where our hopes lie. Do you hope for a better life because you earned it or do you deserve it? Or do you believe your future is secure because Jesus is Lord over your life?
When we place our hope in our achievements and abilities, we are sure to be disappointed. But when we trust in the Lord, He becomes our unfailing hope. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He rules over all the earth: everything is under His power. Let the Lord Jesus Christ be your hope. Trust in Him and you will never be disappointed.

This morning we want to pray together saying: Heavenly Father, thank you for Your promises. Help me to always place my hope only in You. In the Name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
