The light shines brightly when we follow God's vision for our lives.
Nehemiah was cup-bearer to King Artaxerxes in a foreign land. Although circumstances were against him, Nehemiah prayed to have God's vision clear. Surely God put in him the desire to rebuild the city of Jerusalem, the city from which he was taken prisoner when the enemy empire defeated Israel.
Sometimes God's vision is not easy to discern. It takes faith to believe in God's plan. But when we allow His vision to guide our lives, we can be confident that the God with whom nothing is impossible will not depart from our side.
As cupbearer, Nehemiah had little freedom to leave the king's palace, let alone the right to an extended leave. But God turned the king's heart in favor of Nehemiah.
King Artaxerxes fulfilled Nehemiah just as he wished: from a long period of absence from the palace to the letters for his safe passage to Israel, the king said no to nothing. He even sent his army officers and cavalry to escort Nehemiah.
God's vision is never ordinary. It provides us with numerous opportunities to thank God for His goodness. Are you ready to see the amazing God will work in your life?
This morning we want to turn to God together and tell him: Lord God, thank you for what you do for me. I want to obey you and do what you like. Let me have a vision of what you are preparing for me. Help me live a life according to Your word. In the Name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
