It is a plain truth that the Bible is not just a book of information but a book of transformation. Anyone reading the Bible for the first time may wonder where to start. Each book of the Bible has its relevance and the power to change lives. And the book of Psalms is one of these books.
In the Psalms we find the words that express our deepest and strongest emotions, whatever the circumstance. The Psalms become a mirror to God's people in our quest to experience God's presence. Let's start with praise: Much of the Psalms written by King David were attributed to praise. When we see the action of praise we come to understand what a wonderful God we have, worthy of receiving all our praise.
As children of God, our feeling of praise comes from an eternal God who created everything visible and invisible. King David praised God even in unfavorable situations because he knew he served a powerful and faithful God, ready to support those who seek him with all his might.
Heart. Let your life praise God, for every word God has spoken is true and His glory is beyond compare.
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of heaven, thank you for how Your word encourages me. I wish to continually praise you with all my heart. Help me to live a life that is a song to You. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
