In the verses preceding the one read this morning, there are indications regarding the relationship between spouses, the parent-child relationship, the master-servant relationship. After this Paul says to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power.
Regardless of the positions we hold, we must remember to be strong in the Lord. When we are strong in the Lord, we learn to understand the strength of His might. Being strong in the Lord helps us throw away our old human nature of being oppressive or the wrong way we treat others. Our character must be such that it is strong enough for the power of Christ to be revealed through us. When someone wrongs us or insults us, how we respond is who we really are. How we respond to different situations determines how deep our relationship with Christ is and how strong we are in Him.
When we are strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might, we will have the strength to love and serve those around us. Go out of your way to love people from the bottom of your heart just like Jesus did.
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of love, I thank you for your word. Help me to love others so that I can bear witness to your love to those around me. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
