Every day we can make thousands of choices, from the moment we get up until we go to bed. One of the choices we all have to make is to love. As part of our routine in today's world, with all its challenges, walking in love may seem like a noble ideal that is difficult to achieve.
However, let us not forget that the foundation of our love comes from God. The recurring theme of the Bible is love, because GOD IS LOVE and being made in His image we must remind ourselves that we were made by love, in love , for love. Loving is not just an option but a commandment in the Bible. Wondering why this is so important and how our choices on earth can determine our eternity?
There are several verses in the Bible that remind us how important the commandments are and how keeping the commandments is required by God. On the topic of keeping the commandments, Jesus in Luke 10:27 said: «Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." We can see in these words how everything boils down to one choice: the choice to love.
Choosing to love will change the course of our existence. We spread love because we have been, are and will always be loved by God who gave his only begotten Son, who died for us, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
This morning we want to pray together saying: Heavenly Father, thank you for your great love. Help me to love others. In the Name of Jesus... Amen!
