GREAT GOODNESS

A good morning with the peace of the Lord to everyone.
For today, Wednesday 28 February 2024, the thought that I felt in my heart to share with you has as its key verse:
Psalm 31:19 (NIV)

“How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you.”

God is good... it is a phrase that we often quote and sing it many times. But is it possible for a human being to truly grasp the greatness of God's goodness? With our limited intellectual abilities, we often limit God's goodness to a happy day, a productive week at work, or a month without illness. But God's goodness is much greater than this!
Psalm 31 was written by King David during one of the most difficult periods of his life. David talks about being in difficulty, in pain, weak, forgotten, destroyed. People are actually conspiring to take his life. Yet in all of this David manages to proclaim his trust in the Lord. In verse 14 he exclaims, “But I trust in you, O LORD; I said: «You are my God».” David believed in the greatness of God's goodness. He proclaimed God's promises and rested in them, even during trials. David's prayers turned to praise, even before they were answered.
Are you going through a difficult time in your life? You too need to be reminded of the greatness of God's goodness that is reserved for those who fear Him. The Lord has good plans for you. When you take refuge in the Lord, He will not leave you and will help you. Don't let circumstances get the best of you. Trust in the Lord and know that His goodness will accompany you all the days of your life.

Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of love, I thank you for your word. Thank you for your great kindness that accompanies me every day. Help me to overcome everything with Your strength. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
