I WILL SING TO THE LORD

Peace of the Lord to all.
For today's family worship, Sunday 28 April 2024, I feel in my heart to share with you a thought which has as its key verse:
Psalm 101:1 (NIV)

“I will sing of your love and justice; to you, LORD, I will sing praise.”

I will sing of your love and justice; to you, LORD, I will sing praise.
Isn't it wonderful to know that our God loves to hear us sing? Music and singing were a cherished part of Israel's culture, and several times in the Bible people sang songs of joy, love, gratitude, deliverance, and victory to Him.
In this psalm David was praising God after being made king over Israel. He was singing to God about His goodness and His justice. He declared that he wanted to depend on God and ask him for help in leading this great nation.
When we feel good and happy it is easier to sing praises to our God; difficulty comes when we sing in the midst of life's adversities and trials.
Paul and Silas are an example of men who chose to sing praises to God when they were in the midst of adversity. After being unfairly beaten, they were chained and put in prison. Around midnight Paul and Silas, praying, sang hymns to God; and the prisoners listened to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, the prison was shaken to its foundations; and in that instant all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were broken.
Sing hymns to our God of liberation, mercy, love and justice, remembering that His mercy and love are renewed every day towards us

This morning we want to turn to God together and say: Lord God, thank you for everything you do for me. I wish to sing your praises even in the midst of difficulties. Help me face everything with Your support. In the Name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
