David wrote this psalm when he was in the midst of adversity. He felt as if he were surrounded by lions who would tear him to pieces. Even in the midst of difficult situations, David's hope was in the God of Israel. He showed himself to be courageous and all he could do at that time was praise God and sing His praises among the people. David wanted to acknowledge God by publicly praising Him for who He was in his life.
What do we do when faced with a similar situation? Have we ever tested our character in times like David's? How often do we praise God? What is the level of our faith? Even though David saw himself surrounded by his enemies, he did not want to lose hope in God. He clung to the Lord. There may be times in life when you feel like you are losing hope. Praise and thanks that come from a hurt or discouraged heart aren't always easy. God knows the pain you feel: praise him in the midst of your affliction.
Glorify Him by knowing that He will rain His blessing on your life. May our mouth and heart always be full of praise to God.
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of heaven, thank you for how Your word encourages me. I want to praise and glorify you with all my heart. Help me overcome everything with Your help. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
