The Israelites were God's chosen people. He freed them from slavery in Egypt and brought them to the Promised Land. He forgave their sins when they rebelled and showed them mercy time and time again. However, they chose to turn their backs on God and only sought Him when they needed something from Him.
As a chosen generation who believes in Jesus, many think they are not like the Israelites. But you often make bad choices just like they did. Some devote themselves to what is on their smartphones and social media instead of worshiping the Lord with all their hearts. Some forget to spend time with God on busy mornings, choosing instead to pursue their pleasures.
Let us learn to give priority to the Lord in our lives. He rejoices in doing good to His children. He delights in establishing us according to His will. If you are wondering where God is, check your heart. He is a faithful Father who never leaves His children. You just have to seek it with all your heart. Spend time with God and listen to what He whispers to you through His word. When you seek the Lord, you will find Him. And you will find true joy and true peace that will allow you to rest in His eternal promises.
This morning we want to turn to God together and tell him: Lord God, thank you for what you do for me. Thank you for always being by my side. Help me to trust and have full faith in You in everything. In the Name of Jesus... Amen!
