David and the people of Israel willingly gave to the Lord. They gave their possessions and abilities to God. David thanks God for the gifts that the people gave for the construction of the temple of God.
We must serve God with our time, talents, and resources. God has given us these things to be used in the work of the Kingdom. Don't waste your time, nor your talent, nor your resources on the vain and worthless things of the world. The more you dedicate yourself to serving God in and through the church, the more God will bless you. God remains indebted to no one. When we serve God faithfully with all we have, God will reward us abundantly. Use what you have for God's work. If you have not used any of your abilities for God so far, use it now, use it today. As soon as David asked people to donate, they willingly did so. There was no force or pressure on them to devote themselves to the service of God. They did so because they loved the God of Israel.
Do you hesitate to serve God or to use your talents for Kingdom work? Remember one thing: It is never too late to prepare and work for the Lord. Have a grateful heart towards God and serve him faithfully.
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God in heaven, thank you for what you do for me. Thank you for the talents you have given me. I wish to put them at your service. Help me in the tasks you entrust to me for Your glory. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
