One man in the Bible is mentioned several times for having a hardened heart: the Egyptian Pharaoh who repeatedly rejected Moses' pleas to free the enslaved people of Israel.
Pharaoh's obstinacy finally ended in calamity and trouble for him and his nation. It's easy to see how we can also get into trouble when we harden our hearts against what God asks us to do or not do.
In this morning's verse we are told that blessed is the man who is always fearful. To be blessed we must fear the Lord.
Today the world is always looking for how to achieve happiness. But the world's definition of happiness, or how to achieve it, is different from God's. For us, we can begin to achieve happiness when we fear and serve God.
It is a blessing to fear the Lord. The Bible in Proverbs 9:10 says that “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and to know the Holy One is understanding.” Therefore, continue to fear the Lord and you will see the blessings that God will shower in your life!
Today we want to pray together and say: God the Father, I thank you for how you encourage me. Help me to be faithful to You in everything with Your help. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
