There is a famous children's story called “The Three Little Pigs”. In the story, these little pigs try to escape the big bad wolf by building shelters. But the only shelter capable of resisting the attacks of the wolf is the brick house, which cannot be destroyed by the cunning predator.
In real life, we all need protection from all the intrigues and deadly attacks of the enemy of our souls
In Psalm 62 we find David reminding himself that his soul finds rest only in God; that He is her refuge; that He alone is his salvation; that He is his fortress; a rock where no enemy can reach him; that powerful rock where David finds security.
We must remind ourselves every day that our God is mighty and strong; that He is our rock: He is the rock of our salvation. God is our fortress and in Him we will not falter!
There are no other places we can be safe. We must place our trust and hope in God alone because He alone is our only safe place, our strong tower, our refuge!
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of heaven, thank you for how your word encourages me. I wish to place my complete trust in You. Protect my life from every attack of the enemy of our souls. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
