DO NOT REMEMBER

Peace of the Lord to all.
For today's family worship, Sunday 21 January 2024, I feel in my heart to share with you a thought which has as its key verse:
Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

The past is always a strange place. On the one hand there are many beautiful memories, experiences you have cherished and things you have achieved. On the other hand, you remember past wounds, accidents you suffered, and areas where you failed. No matter how good or bad the past was, you can't live an abundant life by trying to live in the past.
God wants to do a new thing in your life, but you can't fully experience it if you keep looking back. Let go of what you may have previously achieved and embrace the plans God has for your future. Allow the blood of Jesus to cleanse your past sins and remove all guilt and shame.
Even though it may seem like you are in the midst of a difficult season in your life, the Lord will make it fruitful again. The best days of your life are not over; they are yet to come. As you grow closer to God, you will experience a new level of the Lord's goodness and grace in your life.

This morning we want to turn to God together and tell him: Lord God, I ask you to search my heart. Show me everything I have to leave behind from my past. Help me, through your Spirit, to live a new life in You. In the Name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
