As soon as a mother conceives, the family begins to shine with joy as they wait to welcome the new life into the home. On the other hand, while the child grows in the mother's womb, the child does not know who his parents are, the child does not know who he looks like. However, they learn over time.
It is the same process in our spiritual journey, as we are born again, as we grow in the Lord, He reveals Himself to us through Christ Jesus. Just as children imitate their parents, our imitation of Christ is not to be thought of as a simple imitation of actions of Jesus, but the much deeper purpose is that by imitating him we become more and more like him.
As this morning's verse says, Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. This is God's plan in our spiritual journey to one day be with Him for eternity.
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of love, I thank you for your word. I want to study every day to grow in the light of the Word of God. Help me to do Your will in everything. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
