HOPE IN THE LORD

Peace of the Lord be to you. For today's "Bread from Heaven", Thursday 20 June 2024, I will read a passage that is written in the Word of God in:
Psalm 71:14 (NIV)

“As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.”

Some people when they think about hope, do not associate it nor think that hope is a direct consequence of suffering.
However, by looking at the Scriptures in the light of God's grace, we can not only rejoice in our suffering, but also be certain that our suffering will produce hope in us.
When we read Romans 5:3-5 and work backwards through the verses, we can conclude that hope is a consequence of experience; experience is a consequence of patience; and patience is a consequence of suffering.
As Romans 8:25 says “But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it patiently.” The hope of “hoping in the Lord, to be courageous, knowing that He will strengthen our hearts”.
So, when we hope in the Lord, we will praise our God even more, because as Romans 5:5 says “hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. ”

Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of heaven, I thank you for the way you speak to me. Help me in suffering to hope only in You. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
