God is merciful to us and blesses us, shows His favor and shines on us. What beautiful words in this morning's verse that express our desire to experience God's tender mercy.
The word shine according to the dictionary is “Emitting and diffusing a particularly lively brightness; shine.". Christ is our light, the sun of justice. Through God's tender mercy, Christ shines upon us.
Can you imagine the impact it had when Jesus lovingly looked at the woman caught in the act of adultery? Or at the cross, when one of the thieves believed that Jesus was God, and was immediately forgiven and saved.
Jesus came into the world to save us. God has been merciful to us and has already blessed us, because he has made the face of Jesus shine on you and on me.
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of love, I thank you for everything you do for me. Thank you for the new life you have given me in Christ Jesus. Always let Your face shine upon us... In the name of Jesus, Amen!
