18 January 2024

Peace of the Lord be to you. For today's "Bread from Heaven", Thursday 18 January 2024, I will read a passage that is written in the Word of God in:
Romans 8:28 (NIV)

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

This is certainly one of the most well-known verses of the Bible in which the certainty is declared that whatever happens, it will always be for our good. But it is also specified in it that this promise is valid for those who love God.
In the book of Genesis, the story of Joseph is an extraordinary testimony to this truth. Despite all he went through, all the injustices suffered by his brothers, it was he who achieved such a position of prestige in Egypt that allowed him to extend blessings to all his brothers, their families, and save them from famine. In Genesis 50:20 Joseph said to his brothers: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”.
This does not mean that we will never go through hardships, on the contrary, it means that even if we go through adversities, God will change everything to accomplish what He wants, to fulfill His purpose and let His glory shine. We must know that our sufferings will produce in us perseverance, character and hope.
It is wonderful to know that God is on our side if we remain in Him. We must love Him with all that we are, with all of our soul, mind, and strength. He loves us so much and wants to shower His blessings on us, we need not fear because nothing can separate us from His love!

Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God in heaven, thank you for everything you do for me. Thank you for how you take care of my life. May my faith in You grow with Your help. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
