When we read the book of Acts, we discover the great opposition that the early church had to endure for the sake of Christ. We might think that everything would stop after meeting resistance from all sides. However, their prayer reported in the verses we have read tells us the opposite. Faced with threats to their very lives, they prayed that God would give them the courage to continue sharing His Word.
Even today we constantly face opposition in the secular world, and spiritual attacks would weaken our faith. What is our response when we face a problem? Do we want to run away and stay hidden thinking that things won't go back to normal? Or are we ready to move forward in faith, no matter the cost?
The disciples believed that God would do His part by healing people and showing them signs and wonders. They asked the Lord for courage to do their part in the kingdom of God. Today you must believe that God will do His part in your life. He will keep His promises to you. You just have to be courageous, persevere, and continue to do what God has called you to do.
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God in heaven, thank you for what you give me and for the honor you grant me to be able to serve you. I desire to live a life consecrated to You. Help me to do your will in everything. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
