We remember every day of our childhood, how safe we felt in the presence of our parents. We knew that when mom and dad were there no one could hurt us. But as we grow up, we distance ourselves from our parents and are expected to start standing up for ourselves.
Many roll up their sleeves and try to make a mark on the world we live in.
You have to admit that it's difficult. It is not easy to deal with the many criticisms, undeserved accusations and injuries that are hurled at you. We long for an arm that can hug us and say "everything will be fine".
The arms of the Lord are wide open to welcome us, his outstretched arm protects us, not only comforts and strengthens us, but repels those aggressors who try to bring us down, with sarcasm, insults, discouragement and accusations.
The words of an ancient song said “Are we weak and oppressed, oppressed by a load of worries? Precious Savior, you are still our refuge, we bring everything to you in prayer. Do your friends despise you, abandon you? Bring everything to the Lord in prayer! In His arms he will take you and protect you; you will find comfort there.”
Today we want to pray together to the Lord saying: Father of Love, I come to You. I need you. Hold me in your sweet arms of love. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
