REFUGE IN GOD

A good morning with the peace of the Lord to everyone. For today, Wednesday 10 July 2024, the thought that I felt in my heart to share with you has as its key verse:
Psalm 46:7 (NIV)

“The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”

In a world that often appears chaotic and uncontrollable, Psalm 46:7 resonates as a balm to the soul. In these words we find a powerful promise: we are not alone in facing life's challenges. God, the Lord of hosts, the God of Jacob, is at our side, ready to offer us strength and protection.
 • The Lord of hosts: This expression reminds us of the immense power of God. He is the creator and ruler of the entire universe.
 • The God of Jacob: This name emphasizes the intimate and personal relationship that God has with his people. He is not a distant and impersonal God, but a  loving Father who knows and cares for each of us.
 • With us: God's presence is not static or distant. He is "with us", close to us at all times, ready to support us and help us.
 • Refuge: God is our "refuge", a safe place where we can find protection from the dangers and difficulties of life.
How can we apply this verse to our lives?
 • Let us first seek the presence of God: The first step in experiencing God's strength and protection is to seek Him with all our hearts. Through prayer, reading the Bible, and fellowshipping with other believers, we can cultivate a deep relationship with Him.
 • Then we trust in his power: When we face challenges, let us remember that God is bigger than any problem. Let us trust in his power and goodness, and let us be guided by his wisdom.
 • We also seek refuge in Him: In times of difficulty, let us turn to God as our refuge. Let us trust him with our fears, our doubts and our weaknesses. He will welcome us with open arms and give us the strength and peace we need.

Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of love, we thank you for your immense love and for your constant presence in our lives. We recognize that you are the Lord of hosts, the God of Jacob, and that your power is infinite. Please help us to seek your presence every day and trust in you in every circumstance. In times of difficulty, be our refuge, where we can find strength, protection and peace. ... In the name of Jesus, Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
