In the dictionary the meaning of the word "cast" is: "To throw away from oneself with a rapid and not always controlled gesture". In today's verse, Peter reminds us to cast all our worries on the Lord. Sometimes you can be stressed and take it out on those around you. Or you find yourself in difficult situations and struggle to get out of them. Know that God is able to carry your burdens and wants to take care of you.
If you are going through troubled waters and don't see a way out, don't hesitate to turn to God in prayer. You can cast ALL your burdens on the Lord; you don't have to face them alone. God doesn't want you to bring him only your big problems, but all your worries, big or small. God cares about you: He wants to be involved in your whole life, in the good days and the bad.
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of love, thank you because you love me as I am and take care of me. I long to live in constant communion with You, whether I am in dark valleys or on glorious mountain peaks. I only trust in You who can help me face everything. Help me to rest in your promises. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
