Sometimes you see sentries dozing at their posts in the middle of the night. Even though security guards are hired for the specific purpose of protecting places at night, they often fall into a light sleep, perhaps thinking that they will wake up as soon as they hear something. We may pity the night guards at their posts, but we will stop trusting them if something bad happens while they sleep.
Unlike tired and exhausted security guards, our God never closes his eyes even for a fraction of a second. God watches over you as you spend a restless night, tossing and turning with worry about something you may have no control over. The Lord protects us day and night.
When the Lord establishes our steps, He will not allow our feet to slip. He knows the path each of us must take. It precedes you. It surrounds you front and back. He watches over you, guiding your every step. Don't let worry and fear steal your joy. Cast your cares on the Lord, allow Him to guide you, and rest in the promise that He is always watching and has His eyes on you.
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God in heaven, thank you for what you have done for me. Thank you for how you watch over me. Help me face everything with Your help. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
