TRUST IN GOD
I greet you with the peace of the Lord. Today, Friday 2 August 2024, the short message I want to convey to you is inspired by a verse that is written in:
Psalm 37:3 (NIV)
“Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.”
This verse invites us to a life path rooted in trust in God and in the practice of good. It shows us two fundamental pillars on which to build our existence:
• Trust in God is the anchor of our soul, the rock on which we can always lean. Trusting God means recognizing His sovereignty over every aspect of our lives and accepting His will, even when circumstances seem adverse. It is an act of abandonment that frees us from anxieties and worries, allowing us to live in peace and serenity.
• The practice of good is the concrete expression of our faith. Doing good means loving your neighbor as yourself, performing gestures of mercy, justice and solidarity. It's a way to participate in God's work in the world and leave a positive mark on the lives of others.
Furthermore, the verse invites us to inhabit the land and practice faithfulness. This invitation reminds us that our life is not an island, but is inserted in a broader context, in relationship with others and with the world around us. Being faithful means keeping commitments, being consistent between what we think and what we do, and living authentically.
When we put these principles into practice, when we trust in God and do good, we experience deep joy within us. This is true happiness, the one that does not depend on external circumstances, but is rooted in our relationship with God and others.
Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of heaven, I thank you for your word which illuminates my path. Help me to always trust in You, even in times of difficulty. Give me the strength to do good and be faithful to your commandments. I want to live my life in your service. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
